OUT ON THE TOWN WITH JIMMY BROOKSLast night, I had a dream that I was friends with Drake. I don't remember the specifics, but I seemed to be going to Drizzy for life advice and he was as wise as the OVO Owl that is his sigil. I don't know how to interpret this, but if Drake and I were to kick it IRL, I'd like to think that we'd rock some matching pants and stunt like the two ambiguous race rapper-thespians we are. If I'd go out on the town with Jimmy Brooks, he'd probably represent in these Upcycled Rib Custom Cargo pants from Maharishi. I've written about Maharishi before, including similar pieces from their Upcycled Collection, and my fascination with their clothes only grows. But because this pair of pants costs 310 USD, they are better suited to a man who was, at one time, "25 sitting on 25 mil", than a man who comparison shops for paper towels. Enter J.Crew with a struggle version more commensurate with the size of my bank account. These Wallace & Barnes Garment-Dyed Cotton Patrol Pants cost a mere 118 USD (62% cheaper than the Maharishi pair) and are more than adequate for running through the 6 with our woes. I just received the new J.Crew catalog in the mail (who doesn't like catalogs?) and these jumped out at me, largely because of their demonstration of flawless pocket logic through skillful asymmetrical placement. Not to mention that the militaristic vibe will help Drake and me intimidate any people tryna drain us of our energy.
